PhD candidate will work at the Blood-brain barrier (BBB) laboratory located in Lens, France. BBB-Lab is recognized as world expert in the modeling of the BBB. This team has carried out pioneering works in establishing animal models of the BBB which has been used to investigate BBB physiology and distribution of compounds for pharmaceutical industries. In 2013, the team set up a human in vitro model of the BBB which is now widely used for mechanistic studies and for permeability screenings, and consisting to cultivate CD34+-cells with brain pericytes.
Applications are invited for a 36 months PhD fellowship under the supervision of Pr Fabien Gosselet. The starting date is September 2019. The successful candidate will investigate the role of ABCA7 at the human blood-brain barrier level.

Mission : Le laboratoire étudie les mécanismes physiopathogéniques des maladies des petits vaisseaux cérébraux, qui sont responsables de plus de 25% des accidents vasculaires cérébraux et constituent la première cause de démence vasculaire.
La personne recrutée contribuera à développer et adapter de nouvelles méthodes d'analyse des interactions entre les vaisseaux et le parenchyme cérébral. Elle aura en charge l'élaboration de techniques de marquage des vaisseaux cérébraux et de l'analyse de l'architecture 3D du réseau vasculaire dans des modèles murins de maladies des petits vaisseaux cérébraux. - un contrat post-doctoral qui commencera en septembre 2018 (24 mois), dans le cadre d'un projet H2020 (EURONANOMED call) intitulé "MAGnetic Biomaterials for Brain Repair and Imaging after Stroke (MAGBBRIS)".
- un contrat d'ingénieur de recherche à pourvoir dès mars 2018 (18 mois), dans le cadre d'un AAPG ANR 2017.
